Documents would have to be translated from Bulgarian into a foreign language in the following cases: if you apply for employment or education abroad, marriage outside the country, certificate of various personal facts and/or data to be produced to foreign institutions, etc. And vice versa, translation of foreign documents into Bulgarian is required in the following cases: naturalization of educational qualification acquired abroad, marriage with a foreign national, evidencing before the Bulgarian authorities of various personal facts and data acquired aboard, etc.
Why have translations and legalization performed by a licensed agency?
Translation and legalization shall be performed by an authorized agency, since the latter has certified translators/interpreters as approved by the Consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has executed a valid contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for legalization of documents. Only an authorized agency could draw-up your documents in a legal manner.
What is the difference between Legal (official) and legalized translation?
Legal (official) translation is made by a certified translator on a form sheet of the authorized translation agency, having translator's signature and the stamp of the agency. Legalized translation does not only comply with the above requirements, but is also authenticated by the competent state authorities and is legalized by the Consular department of the Foreign Affairs in the last instance.
Would it be necessary to prepay document translation and legalization services?
The full value of legalization shall be prepaid, while the value of translation services shall be prepaid at least 50% as a minimum. Becoming our frequent customer will eliminate the need of prepayment of any services you may require.
Why do the prices of translation services differ?
Prices vary depending on the level of difficulty of the target language for translation, as well as on the urgency of translation. For example, translation into Polish is more expensive compared to French, and however cheaper compared to translation into Albanian. Prices are not generally determined on the basis of quality and urgency of services provided. This is to say - a market economy.
Which is the procedure for document legalization?
The procedure for documents' legalization is related to authentications by different Bulgarian institutions and depends on the type of document translated. Each document has a different duration and value for legalization. The complexity of such procedure can be demonstrated via the following example: a university diploma and the supplement to it represent two separate documents, which would require notarization of photocopies, authentication by the Ministry of Education and Science, translation of documents and legalization by the Consular Administration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Apart from this, a consular authentication by a foreign embassy may be required.
What is simultaneous and consecutive interpretation?
These are types of verbal interpretation used in case of attendance, business negotiations, conferences and the like. Simultaneous translation is used at multinational conferences, workshops and congresses and represents verbal translation occurring simultaneously with the speech translated. Consecutive translation is used mainly in the case of attendance and business negotiations, and it means a type of verbal interpretation, which occurs following the speech translated. In the case of certain difficult languages, e.g. Hungarian where the syntactic structure of the sentence has the reverse order of Slavonic languages, application of simultaneous interpretation is quite limited.
When will you need document legalization?
You would need legalization of documents in case that you live, work or study abroad and you are required to produce evidence of various personal facts or data to the foreign authorities. Document legalization is further required in case you should like to naturalize in Bulgaria any document for educational qualification level acquired abroad; to certify before the Bulgarian authorities a marriage contracted abroad; or various personal facts or data acquired abroad.
Is it be possible to have translated and legalized documents delivered abroad?
Yes! You will have to only leave your postal address abroad and we will send it there. The mailing costs will be included in the total amount for translation and legalization.
What will you need to do in case of document legalization?
You shall have provided all initial requisites for document legalization, e.g. - in the case of birth certificate to be issued by a municipal body, a specific rectangular stamp shall be placed at the back of the document; failing to do so, such document cannot be legalized.
What is the “APOSTILLE” stamp?
From April 30, 2001 the Convention for abolishment of legalization of foreign public deeds in the republic of Bulgaria has been in effect, as made in the Hague on 5 October 1961. This convention stipulated a uniform method of drawing up a specific category of documents for international use - either via a specific certification ("apostille") placed on the document or affixation to the document of a special certificate ("apostille"). In its nature and form this authentication with an "apostille" is document legalization by the competent authority of the issuing country. The specific point here is that any documents provided with an original "apostille" are exempted from any subsequent forms of authentication and legalization.
